Green Energy.uk

We are not like other green energy providers. We challenge the idea that ‘being green’ is all about making a big commitment, about making an extra effort, and paying extra costs.
Indeed, companies often talk about green energy as an 'alternative'. On the contrary, green energy makes sense for everyone, and we want to make it mainstream.
So, our prices are competitive not only within the green market, but also the entire utilities industry. By minimising the cost and effort it takes to switch, we aim to remove all obstacles to going green.
And because we want to give you even more reason to switch, we allow our customers to become shareholders for free.
Put simply: we do care about the environment, but we are not idealists with our heads in the clouds. We are down to earth, in every sense.

Pavegen

http://www.pavegen.com

Pavegen have globally pioneered a flooring tile that converts the kinetic energy from people's footsteps into renewable electricity. When stepped on, the Pavegen surface flexes a near imperceptible 5mm, generating up to 8 watts of power over the duration of the footstep, enough to power local applications such as street lighting, advertising displays, and communications technology. Installed successfully at sites around the world, including the 2013 Paris Marathon and London 2012 Olympic Games, the Pavegen flooring tiles are also able to collect, monitor and communicate live data using its unique API wireless interface. The software can calculate the amount of power generated and the number of footsteps on each tile, as well as control energy efficient lighting and send out live updates via social media channels. The highly engaging off grid technology has the ability to transform smart cities of the future, by providing a low-carbon energy contribution and real-time data analytics in high footfall areas.
